Keo Sokpheng is one of three players who found the net and give Cambodia a ticket to the semi-final of SEA Game men’s football.

Despite their highest advantages, Cambodia must beat Malaysia to advance to the next round. Meanwhile, hosts Philippines only needs a win over underdog Timor Leste to raise their goal difference.

Starting the game, coach Felix Dalmas asked his players to play a mid-range squad, giving Malaysia the domination in the mid field but still ready to collise in their home field.

Using the same style of play as the national team, but U22 Malaysia is not as sharp. Cambodia creates overwhelming dominance in the border, making Malaysia unable to perform overlapping situations or coordinate effectively.

Kep Sokpheng and his teammates played well against Malaysia

Almost during the first half of the match, both teams did not create many opportunities when Malaysia played deadlocked, while Cambodia stalked each counter attack.

In the second half, U22 Cambodia still develops same play style. As a result, the ball bounced and In Sodavid quickly launched a dangerous shot to open the score. Two minutes later, Sieng Chanthea dribbled the ball on the left before finding Hazig Nadzli’s net to double the score.

In the 69th minute, the Vietnamese-origin player Keo Sokpheng scored a goal to help Cambodia get the third goal. Malaysia could only score one more goal in the last minutes. The 3-1 score is just enough for Cambodia to win a slot to the semi-finals. Cambodia's opponent will possibly be Vietnam.

1' KICK OFF!

All to play off here!

U22 Malaysia experiences bad SEA Games edition as they are pooled in group B with strong rival. Ong Kim Swee’s side gained only 1 win, 1 draw and a loss.

Currently, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines have the same 4 points with the goal difference of +4, +3 and 0. Malaysia is forced to win against Cambodia, and hope the Philippines does not win massively over competitor East Timor .

The task is not simple because Cambodia plays very well on the artificial pitch. While Malaysia could not win against the Philippines, Cambodia drew the hosts with a 1-1 score.

The confrontation between U22 Cambodia and Malaysia will decide the ticket to go on.

Coach Ong Kim Swee said: "The whole team didn’t play following my wish. It was different with what we did agaisnt UAE. Although the competition was not good, Coach Ong Kim Swee was still very confident."

The confrontation between U22 Cambodia vs Malaysia will be constantly updated, the link, highlights and results will be updated as soon as possible
