Thailand calls up Fulham midfielder, ready to face Vietnam in SEA Games 30

Thai coach Akira Nishino has summoned a young talent based in Europe to play in the SEA Games later this year and the AFC U23 Championship 2020.

The 28-man roster now includes England’s Fulham midfielder Ben Davis, 19, who has three citizenships: English, Thai and Singaporean.

Davis moved to Fulham in 2017, starting out with the U18 team. He capped 10 times and scored one goal, with a passing accuracy of 90%. His excellent performance earned him an official contract with Fulham.

Davis is the youngest player in the squad, and the only one based outside Thailand.

Thailand’s provisional U22 squad:

Goalkeepers (3): Korraphat Nareechan (Khon Kaen), Kiadtisak Chaodon (Udon Thani), Nopphon Lakhonphon (Lampang).

Defenders (13): Marco Ballini, Chatchai Saengdao, Saringkan Promsupa (Muangthong United), Kritsada, Chaturaphat Satsatham (Chainat), Shinnaphat Leeaoh (Chiangrai), Kevin Deeromram (Port), Sarayuth Somsompim (PTT Rayong FC), Apisit Sorada ( Chiangmai), Sarayut Sompim (Rayong), Thitathorn Aksornsri (Police Tero), Meechok Marhasaranukun (Suphanburi), Jirawat Thongsaengphrao (Ratchaburi), Peerawat Akkatam (Kasetsart), Kritsada Kaman (Chonburi), Jaturapat Sattham (Chainat Hornbill).

Midfielders (8): Chatmongkol Thongkiri (Chainat), Jaroensak Wonggorn (Samut Prakan), Worachit Kanitsribampen (Chonburi), Ben Davis (Fulham), Anon Amornlerdsak, Wisarut Imura (Bangkok United), Rattanakorn Maikami (Buriram), Patcharapol Intanee (Bangkok United) Muangthong).
