Malaysia coach: ‘Vietnam did very well, hope to face them in the semis’
After the win ovr U22 Timor Leste, coach Ong Kim Swee is confident to advance to the semis and fight U22 Vietnam.
Yesterday, U22 Malaysia could not seize the second spot despite its an important 4-0 win over Timor Leste, however, Cambodia’s defeat to Myanmar gives Malaysia a chance to progress.
Speaking in the post match press conference, Ong Kim Swee said, “Today we got what we need is 3 points. This helps Malaysia be more confident in the final match. We should have scored more but I am satisfied with this result. Malaysia will advance to the semis”.
Speaking of Cambodia, they are stronger than before. We must beat them in the final match and hopefully the hosts will not win massively over Timor Leste.”
Ong Kim Swee shares with Vietnamese reporters, “U22 Vietnam is doing great in this edition, they defeated strong rival Indoneisa. I am waiting to face U22 Vietnam in the semis. Of course, the most important thing for us is the match against Cambodia. We must focus on this match to win”.
U22 Vietnam will enter the fourth match of group B in SEA Games 30, against Singapore. If Park’s side wins, they will possibly join the semis.
