The Matichon newspaper wrote Shanghai SPIG is planning to pay around $2.1 million to convince the boss of Consadole Saporro club to release his man.
Chanathip played brilliantly for Consadole Saporro, a J-League club, and has become a favorite of coach Mihaili Petrovic.
