Thailand press calls Van Lam hero

Dang Van Lam had a brilliant performance that helped Muangthong United beat Prachuap to participate in the final of the Leo Cup 2020. He showed excellent performance when successfully making two saves. Immediately after this performance, many Thai newspapers showed admiration for Van Lam's ability to catch a penalty. The leading newspaper in the country, Siam Sport, calls the number one goalkeeper in Vietnam as the 'hero'.

Another famous newspaper, SMM Sports, took Van Lam's image as the representative image of the semi-final report between Muangthong United and Prachuap.

Not only praising the ability to catch penalties, SMM Sports also assessed that the Vietnamese-Russian goalkeeper had an excellent match.

"After 86 minutes, Prachuap almost got a goal. William Enrique solo between the opposing defense before launching a dangerous finish in the penalty area. But, Dang Van Lam saved penalty,” wrote SMM Sport.

Dang Van Lam is currently the number one goalkeeper of Muangthong United. After a period of getting used to the environment, he quickly showed himself and became a reliable deterrent of the team. In the 2019 season, he played all the matches of the team in Thai League. The 26-year-old is also rated as one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament.
