Although two play-off rounds with the Vietnamese women's team have not yet taken place, the Australian women's team has a friendly plan to start preparing for the 2020 Olympic Games.

After the third qualifying round of the 2020 Olympic women's football, the last four teams to qualify for the play-off round have been determined.

Accordingly, South Korea and Vietnam (group A),  Australia and China (group B) advance to the next round. Specifically, Group A winner  South Korea will face group B’s second-ranked China in the first play-off match and  Australia will take on Vietnam.

According to the plan, each pair of matches will take two legs to find the two teams progressing to the women's Olympic 2020. The play-off first leg will take place on March 6, and the second leg will take place on March 11.

Although the play-offs are still not taking place, the Australian women's team has been planning friendly matches to prepare for the 2020 Olympics. Accordingly, they will have two friendly matches in North America in April.

Specifically, the Australian women's team will have a match against the world champion at the Rio Tinto Stadium on April 10, after which the team will continue to play against Canada at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

It can be said that Australia is a strong opponent compared to Vietnam. Before entering the play-off encounter, Vietnamese women team often receive disappointing results to Australians.
