AFC Cup: Ha Noi FC’s captain made Top 4 brightest players, votes FOX Sports
FOX Sports Asia football editor Gabriel Tan sorts out 4 brightest faces in the second legs of the ASEAN Zone semi-finals of AFC Cup 2019. The heroic and talent of Ha Noi FC’s Captain Van Quyet giving him a slot in that list.
ASEAN Zone semi-finals of AFC Cup 2019 ended with Vietnam’s Ha Noi FC to be the first participant in the Final where another Vietnamese team Becamex Binh Duong followed Ha Noi FC to make an all-Vietnam ASEAN Zone final.
Vietnam’s capital side played out 1-1 against Ceres Negros to secure a huge advantage ahead of the 2nd leg.
Playing at the home ground, Ha Noi FC gained the full initiative to lead the way and the Philippines side eventually broke down, making the hosts hit 2 goals through Omar and Van Quyet.
Captain Van Quyet did a great work in the 2nd leg and was the ‘co-worker’ assisting for Omar’s leading goal just before the 1st half’s hour mark.
Van Quyet is the exemplary captain who ruled out Ceres Negros of the 2019 AFC Cup ASEAN Zonal to seal a solid slot for Ha Noi FC in the Final.
Van Quyet along with the other 3 men namely SEAN KANE (CERES-NEGROS), WANDER LUIZ (BECAMEX BINH DUONG), ZULHAM ZAMRUN (PSM MAKASSAR) are voted four of the best performers in the second legs of the zonal semi-finals.
He has heaped praise from FOX Sports:
“The 27-year-old laid on an assist for Pape Omar Faye’s 59th-minute opener as he got in behind the opposition defence and waited for the perfect moment to play a precise return pass, which was clinically swept home by his Senegalese team-mate.
Then, five minutes later, Van Quyet pounced on a loose ball inside the area and finished in emphatic fashion to net what ultimately proved to be the winner, capping off a fine all-round display.”
Despite not being the player got the most attention from fans or media as Nguyen Quang Hai, and Van Quyet have made his name in Ha Noi FC as a respectful Captain.
