OFFICIAL: V-League 2020 postponds as Covid 19 comes back

According to VPF chairman Tran Anh Tu, the top two divisions of Vietnamese football are V-League and V-League 2 will be delayed due to the complicated development of the Covid-19 epidemic.

In the morning meeting July 26, VPF sent a written request to delay V-League to VFF and received the agreement. The expected return time when the epidemic is under stable control nationwide and with the permission of the authorities.

This is the second time the league has to be postponed. Previously in March the tournament had to be suspended after round 2 and had to take a break for nearly 1 and a half months.

After recording 2 new cases in Da Nang, the City People's Committee issued a dispatch to implement disease prevention and control measures. The entertainment venues, festivals, tourist areas, cultural and sports activities will have to pause. People practices social distancing until further notice. Because of that, the match on Hoa Xuan field between SHB Da Nang and Hai Phong has to be postponed.

Realizing that potential danger, VPF had an urgent meeting to come to an agreement to suspend V-League again.

The league is coming to a close, with only 2 more rounds left to complete. Teams must fight hard to avoid falling into the group of 6 relegated places after the qualifying round. While the championship race is still hot when Saigon does not create too big gap with the teams behind.
