‘Vietnam may become the strongest squad of Asia’, coach Park believes

Coach Park gained numerous overwhelming achievements with Vietnamese football

For over the passing year, Coach Park gained numerous overwhelming achievements with Vietnamese football. The most special ones were the champion of AFF Cup 2018 after 10 years waiting and advancing to Asian Cup 2019 Quarterfinals.

U23 Vietnam guided by Coach Park played out to seal a ticket to AFC U23 Championship 2020 Finals which occurs early next year in Thailand.

Moreover, Coach Park’s side earned a great victory against Thailand, which smashed the fear existing in Vietnamese players’ mind for a long time of “great rival” – Thailand.

Recently, Coach Park shared with LAODONG.VN about the related stories of the overwhelming achievements with Vietnamese football.

"My life in Korea has not changed much, because I work and live with my wife here. Since I became the Head Coach of Vietnam, there has been a small change which is that I always try to be more careful with my actions and words."

Coach Park believes that Vietnam is on the verge of the greatest squad of Asian

He affirmed that besides the great advancements in recent time, there are still a lot of further goals to reach.

“Since I came to Vietnam, there have been many tournaments such as U23 Asia, ASIAD, AFF Cup and Asian Cup. However, the most significant success that my side gained was lifting the championship trophy of AFF Cup. I think that there is no doubt that Vietnam is developing very clearly. In the near future, Vietnam team may reach and become the greatest team of Asia, not just ASEAN.”

He revealed some tips to maintain players’ solidarity and high fighting spirit:

“To be honest, since I managed the team so far, we have not had any conflicts. However, we always have a number of regulations that all have to follow, including me. The rules are based on the spirit of Vietnamese which helps our team try to become united.

Moreover, every person in our team has high regard for each other and when someone shows personal opinions whether it were right or wrong, we still respect those ideas. In particular, I keep encouraging my team to contribute new ideas and freely share personal views."
