British expert puts forward Park on ‘commanding troops’ ahead of 2019 King’s Cup
Sharing with Sports442, Steve Darby thinks that the players summoned to the national team by Coach Park need to be fit with the long-term run of Vietnam NT ahead of 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
Vietnam NT is running 2019 King’s Cup campaign held basis from the beginning of this June. The spotlight of this tournament is the kick-off encounter of Thailand and Vietnam.
Domestic experts said that Thailand is so hungry for the title to assert dominance as the top squad in the area.
Considering King’s Cup tournament’s calibre (a level A friendly game under FIFA), Steve Darby shows his opinion that is Vietnam NT need to weigh up thoroughly the long-term run instead of wasting the forces in beating Thailand or seizing this tittle.
He advised:
“I think Park Hang-seo should weigh up specifically and set suitable goals in this tournament. It can be showed through the decision on choosing the players who is to be convened to the national squad whether they are youngsters, aged footballers or experienced ones.”
“Winning this game is not as important as the preparation for the team in the face of 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. As a results, Mr. Park has to calculate on personnel befittingly. I mean that it’s better to call up the youngsters having potential to significant campaign, like what he did in 2019 Asian Cup.”
"Don’t care about winning and losing at King’s Cup. Heretofore does anyone care about the tittle or the reward of King’s Cup? Vietnamese football should aim to the big things. Such a silver crown that I got in AFF Suzuki Cup did not important as heading into World Cup.” The former Thai Coach stated
