V-League 2019: Ho Chi Minh City FC lost to the underdog team, Chung Hae-soung denied joining press conference
Ho Chi Minh coach Chung Hae-soung left right after the loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa, without joining the press conference.
In round 18 V-League 2019, Ho Chi Minh city, with its home advantage and facing an underdog team, received a 1-2 loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa.
In this match, Ho Chi Minh city FC side Ismahil Akinade bagged a first-half winner, however, the home team's defensive wall crumbled in the extra time.
HCM coach Chung Hae-soung did not attend the post-match press interaction because of his disappointment on his players’ performance, and assigned his assistant Phung Thanh Phuong to answer the media.
Mr Phuong shared: “We did create a good game, many chances to score yet I could not satisfy with the result”.
“In such confrontation between the top team and the bottom team, it is very difficult to play, they were put a lot of pressure. The two teams today play openly”.
The loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa push Ho Chi Minh City FC down to the second place on the table, 2 points less than Hanoi FC. Despite the small gap, Phuong Thanh Phuong said the team is determined to fight in the last 7 matches of the season.
“The run for the championship is continuing, all the upcoming matches will be the final for us”.
“I highly appreciate goalmouths Tuan Manh. He did a splendid job for the visiting team and deserves a slot in the Vietnam national team. Regarding Ho Chi Minh City FC side, if you cannot score, you will be fought back. We were unlucky to be unable to convert many chances”.
