Chanathip Songkrasin: "I am unable to confront Vietnam"
Thai striker Chanathip Songkrasin expressed his regret not being able to join Thailand team to attend King's Cup and participated in the match against Vietnam NT
Recently, according to the latest information from Thailand side, star striker Chanathip Songkrasin will not be able to serve Thailand in King's Cup friendlies for injury reasons. This will be a huge loss for Sirisak Yodyard's troop when the so-called Messi Thailand is the brightest star in Thailand's attack.
Reportedly, Chanathip suffered injuries in Consadole Sappporo’s training session and requested to withdraw from Thailand squad list. According to the initial diagnosis, Chanathip suffered from muscle tear and it took at least a week to fully recover. This also means Thailand's number 1 superstar will not be able to participate in the match against Vietnam on 5/6.
No. 1 Thai star said: "I had an injury during a training session. In the past 3 days, my injury did not have much progress. I tried to do some training again but still painful, the second test result shows that I have torn bones, have to stay at least 1 week.
In fact, I tried hard to be able to play the match on June 1 with Sanfrecce Hiroshima because I wanted to show the club that I was strong enough to return to the Thailand national team. I found this impossible after the latest talk with my doctor and the club leader. The club also did not want me to risk my injury and requested to withdraw from the national team immediately. But I am still allowed to go to Thailand to rest and recover there, I will have 3 days off in Thailand ".
Chanathip said: "I accept this fact and feel very sorry that I really want to contribute to the national team, to play under the encouragement of my homeland spectators. I want to see my friends and siblings there but everything doesn't work out as I wish, I want to apologize for not being able to contribute to the Thai team at this King 'Cup. I did everything I could ".
