VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan shared the difficulties Vietnam encountered after the 2022 World Cup qualifier was suspended due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The complicated evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected all social and economic activities and football is no exception. Most tournaments have been postponed, including the Asian 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, Chairman of AFC Competition Committee; VFF Standing Vice President shared with SGGP: “This year, the time frame of FIFA competitions is the end of March, early June, early September, early October and mid-November. Therefore, qualifying matches of World Cup postponed in March and June will be transferred to September, October and November.

This is an important and necessary condition, because as we know, only when the matches are held in the FIFA calendar, the players will be released by the club to return to serve the national team. This also led to an increase in competition density during the year-end period.

However, this is unavoidable and a common difficulty of all counties. What we need to do is to always be proactive in every situation, how to prepare for the best results in our capacity. ”

After the first two rounds on the field, the V-League 2020 is also forced to stop at least until the end of March. This greatly affects the plans of VFF, VPF and the clubs. However this is essential to limit the spread of disease.

Not only the V-League, the most attractive tournaments in Southeast Asia including the Indonesian, Thai League, V-League, M-League (Malaysia), the Philippine National League have all been halted.
