The postponement of the Super Cup match and the 2020 V-League schedule has made a significant impact on Park Hang Seo's preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The organizer of the National Super Cup recently announced plans to postpone the starting day due to the corona outbreak. As expected the "El Clasico" match of Vietnam between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi will kick off on February 7. However the schedule is expected to fall back on either February 21 or March 1.

The postponement of the Super Cup also prevented the 2020 V-League matches from proceeding as planned. The previous plan was on February 21. This will greatly affect the preparation for the 2022 World Cup qualifying of Vietnam national team.

On Feb 2, Mr. Park returned to Vietnam after the Lunar New Year holiday. He plans to visit Thong Nhat Stadium to watch the Super Cup match and the matches of the league. However, the current outbreak of Corona virus has not been better, the competition day will be delayed indefinitely.

Coach Park Hang Seo will have another headache because of the complicated schedule

At the end of March, Vietnam will enter a difficult trip to Malaysia in the 2022 World Cup qualifier. The league matches will be a good time for the pillars of the team to warm up, and helps Mr. Park refine new factors in the context that Vietnam loses some important factors in the defense against Malaysia.

With the weak performances of the national team at the end of 2019, as well as Vietnam’s opponents understand its playstyle, Mr. Park needs more time to change his strategies in 2020.
