U23 South Korea officially crown the championship of AFC U23 tournament
After 120 minutes with high intensity, the Korean U23 team defeated Saudi Arabia U23 to win the U23 Asian Championship for the first time in the history.
Being evaluated with more advantages but the Korean U23 soon faced the first danger. Right in the 2nd minute, the Saudi U23 team had the opportunity with the finish of Al-Hamdan.
The blue shirt players actively play with a low squad and wait for the opportunity. They almost had the goal to open the score after the mistake of goalkeeper Beom-keun. Thankfully for the Korean U23 when the opponent could not convert the chance.
In the remaining minutes of the first half, the Korean team took advantage of the physical strength of striker Oh Se-hun and launched the cross from the two borders. Unfortunately, the blue-shirt defenders have successfully neutralized it. They also had some very dangerous opportunities, notably the finish of Woo-yeong Jeong and the ball went over the bar. The first half ended 0-0.
Entering the second half, the Korean U23 team actively speeded up from the first minutes. Lee Dong-jun had a surprising handling phase after a breakthrough situation and then unleashed a technical shot into the far corner, but goalkeeper Al Yami had saved U23 Saudi Arabia.
Lee Dong-jun continued to threaten the goal but he should have needed more acuracy.
The game drifted to the end of the second half, U23 Saudi Arabia suddenly played very well thanks to its abundant physical foundation. In the 87th minute, South Korean fans were dumbfounded when Ghareeb shot a long shot in an empty position, fortunately the ball did not hit the Korean U23 goal.
The match must go into 2 halves of extra time. The match is maintained by Saudi Arabia U23 as the first minutes of the match. It was expected that both sides would have take penalty shootout, but the sudden goal in the 115th minute of Jong Tae-wook gave South Korea a huge advantage.
Tae-wook's only goal helps South Korea win the championship for the first time in their history. Their highest achievement was runner-up in 2016. Congratulations to the Korean U23 team
