Overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Filip Nguyen confirmed that he has completed the Europa League goal and continues towards his dream of wearing a Vietnamese shirt.
Defeating Mlada Boleslav 2-0, Filip Nguyen and Slovan Liberec have officially won tickets to attend the Europa League Qualifier for the 2020-2021 season. After 3 years of absence, Slovan Liberec can return to the Europa League.
While this is the first time Filip Nguyen has been featured in the European arena. The Czech Overseas goalkeeper did not hide his joy and confirmed he had fulfilled a dream.
Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen shared: "I would like to thank the entire FC Slovan Liberec team and our fans. Thank you for supporting us and trusting us.
I have fulfilled a dream that is the qualifying for the UEFA Europa League. Thank you to all Vietnamese fans for giving us such a great support. You are so great".
However, there are still many goals for Filip Nguyen to continue conquering, including the dream of returning to Vietnam. Goalkeeper has outlined plans to bring 'Golden Dragon' to the World Cup playground.
"I will be very happy if all problems are resolved as soon as possible to attend the 2022 World Cup qualifier. Wearing Vietnam national team, contributing to the World Cup with Vietnam has always been my dream" - Filip Nguyen expressed.
VFF has now supported Filip Nguyen to be classified as a sports talent when applying for Vietnamese nationality. This gives Filip Nguyen priority exemption from 5-year permanent resident status and speaks Vietnamese. The only mandatory requirement for a goalkeeper is to have a Vietnamese name.
