After much negotiation, Ho Chi Minh City Football Club agreed to spend 1 million USD to get the service of Lee Nguyen.
For many days, Ho Chi Minh City Football Club is rumored to recruit midfielder Lee Nguyen. Finally, after many negotiation efforts, the runner-up of the V-League 2019 is about to get the service of this overseas Vietnamese player.
According to some sources, the HCMC Football Club has agreed to pay 1 million USD to bring Lee Nguyen to Thong Nhat Stadium. It is known that the contract between the midfielder and Ho Chi Minh City will be valid for 2 years.
Sharing with Thanh Nien, a member of the team leader, said: "Yes, we decided to bet big. Ho Chi Minh City agreed with $ 1 million (over 23 billion) from the representative of Lee Nguyen to bring him from Inter Miami FC.
We decided to invest heavily in Lee Nguyen as we believed in his talent and professionalism. Hopefully Lee Nguyen will be a special gift for the club to support the Ho Chi Minh City fans who have always supported the team.”
Reportedly, Ho Chi Minh City Club initially agreed to pay a maximum of 850,000 USD for 2 years of Lee Nguyen's contract. However, this player requests 1 million USD / 2 years. After a period of discussion, the leadership of the HCMC club decided to spend a huge amount of money to bring Lee Nguyen to the Thong Nhat Stadium.
With the price of 1 million USD, Lee Nguyen will become the player with the highest contract value in V-League 2020. Most likely, Lee Nguyen will join Ho Chi Minh City on February 22, before the V.League 2020 deadline for player registration.
After the unsatisfactory start of the season with a draw and a loss in the Asian Cup, the Ho Chi Minh City club hopes Lee Nguyen will bring a new look to the team in the 2020 season.
