Binh Duong coach accused VPF of being 'shady', favoring Hanoi FC
Coach Nguyen Thanh Son said that VPF had 'forced' Binh Duong into a difficult situation, but favored Hanoi FC.
Recently, VPF decided to postpone the V.League 2020 indefinitely due to concerns about the outbreak of Covid-19. However, Vietnamese football keeps the matches in the quarterfinals of the National Cup 2020.
The quarterfinals of the National Cup will take place on August 1 and 2 with matches from Hanoi - XSKT Can Tho, Ba Ria Vung Tau - Ho Chi Minh City Club, Hong Linh Ha Tinh - Than Quang Ninh and Viettel - Becamex Binh Duong.
Commenting on the arrangment of the National Cup schedule, coach Nguyen Thanh Son said that VPF is detrimental to Becamex Binh Duong, but favored by backing the schedule for Hanoi FC.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Son shared: "At 4 am this morning, the whole team of Binh Duong just arrived at the headquarters. The whole team was very tired, but tired than receiving information about the schedule of the quarterfinals of our national cup, which was August 2 but it was changed to August 1.
It is absurd because Hanoi will initially play on July 31 while Binh Duong will play on August 2. Hanoi has more time and play later, we are from afar and play earlier. Why don’t they keep the Viettel-Binh Duong battle on August 2 and the Hanoi-Can Tho battle on 1st August is reasonable but why they keep "forcing" us to play early?"
Mr. Son raised the question "Maybe someone afraid of us going to Hanoi so strong that we should play early?".
Binh Duong representative said that VPF should decide to postpone the National Cup because the teams do not have the mind to play football at the moment. In addition, postponement of the tournament also helps the club do not have to pay foreign soldiers.
