On January 19, the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Golden Ball Award 2019 agreed to reward the two male and female football coaches of Vietnam, Park Hang Seo and Mai Duc Chung. This award is worthy of the contribution of these 2 coaches to Vietnamese football in the past year.
With Coach Park Hang Seo, he led Vietnam to a lot of proud achievements in 2019, notably reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup 2019, curent group winner in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. the Korean strategist and U22 Vietnam won the gold medal at the 30th SEA Games after 60 years of waiting.
With coach Mai Duc Chung, he helped the female team successfully defend the SEA Games gold medal and prepare to compete for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In addition, Vietnam also won the Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship for the 3rd time in Thailand.
The award is dedicated to honor the tireless contributions of two talented strategists in the succession and solid development process of Vietnamese football in 2019.
Besides, the organizers also announced a list of nominees for Vietnam's golden ball in 2019 including Do Hung Dung, Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Van Quyet (Hanoi Club), Doan Van Hau. (Heerenveen SC) and Nguyen Trong Hoang (Viettel Club).
The Vietnam Golden Ball Award 2019 will be held at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater at 7:00pm on Feb 13.
