Shebby Singh, former football player of Malaysia, said Doan Van Hau went to Europe to play football too late.

Doan Van Hau's contract with Heerenveen expired on June 30, 2020. However, up to now, the Dutch team as well as Hanoi FC has not officially announced the future of defenders in 1999.

Asian football expert Shebby Singh, a former Malaysian football player, was an international consultant of Blackburn Rovers and is now one of Asia's football analysts. He said Doan Van Hau should soon leave SC Heerenveen.

“Asian players need to play football in Europe early if they want to succeed there. The appropriate age is 12 and 13. It should not be more than 14. So they will have time to adjust and adapt to the new environment. In the case of Van Hau, he went to Europe at the age of 18. It was difficult for him to get a chance to play. But if Van Hau comes to Heerenveen soon, his path and career will be different.

I like Van Hau. He is a quality player. But I'm not surprised he struggled at Heerenveen. He needs to think about the future and can choose a suitable league like the J.League, ” Shebby Singh shared with VTC.

This expert stated that Doan Van Hau should go to J-League to play football, which is a more suitable environment for Vietnamese defenders, he will have many opportunities to show his ability.

Thai Binh defender is receiving the 4th highest salary in Heerenveen. However, they could not reduce Van Hau's salary, because it was the minimum salary for non-European players.

Recently, the Heerenveen Club has officially said goodbye to the 8 members of the team: goalkeeper Trevor Doornbusch, Warner Hahn, Filip Bednarek and players Alen Halilovic, Jordy Bruijn, Daniel Hoegh, Ricardo van Rhijn and first team’s manager Herman van Dijk.
