The UAE starts training camp to outperform Vietnam in World Cup 2020
The UAE team is having a training trip in Europe to prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifying in Asia.
With the No. 1 goal in 2020 to win tickets to the final round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia, the UAE joined in the morning of August 7. During this gathering, new coach Jorge Luis Pinto summoned 28 players to prepare for three important matches against Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam in October and November.
To realize these goals, the UAE Football Association even invested heavily in the national team a training trip in Europe. Specifically, coach Pinto and 28 newly called players were present in the Serbian capital Belgrade and trained until August 25.
It is known that the 67-year-old Colombian strategist has set up a thorough plan for the training session in Serbia, including tactical lectures, analyzing the opponent's gameplay and will arrange some friendly matches.
Currently, the UAE is ranked 4th in Group G with 6 points. They are 5 points behind Vietnam, but play less than 1 match. UAE will have to be determined to win all 12 points in the remaining 4 matches.
Except for Indonesia which can be considered as a road liner, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand are all nasty opponents to the UAE. In the first leg, they lost to Thailand as well as Vietnam, and it was very hard to win the minimum victory over Malaysia.
The opportunity remains with the UAE, but Pinto’s side will have to try and play with more than 100% of their abilities to achieve the set goals.
