HAGL no longer ‘plays for fun' with Anh Duc in the squad

Only a few hours ago, HAGL Club officially announced a "blockbuster" contract with former Vietnam striker Nguyen Anh Duc. Reportedly, the mountain town team has overcome many other rivals to get the signature of Anh Duc until the end of the 2020 V-League season.

With the addition of Nguyen Anh Duc in the squad, HAGL once again proved its ambition to advance in the V-League 2020. No more playing for fun, the mountain team seems to be aiming for a high position on the standings in this season.

Before the 2020 V-League started, fans were relieved when the team leader brought 3 quality foreign midfield players, Memovic, midfielder Kelly Kester and striker Chevaughn Walsh. These are the 3 weakest positions of HAGL in recent seasons.

The presence of these 3 players has brought efficiency to the mountain town team. They started smoothly in the first 2 rounds with 3 points against Than Quang Ninh and 1 draw on the winning position against Viettel players.

However, the constant plowing in the past rounds has made them no longer maintain the best performance and condition. Especially in attack when Chevaughn Walsh has not missed any minutes in HAGL's squad this season. Therefore, bringing Duc Anh at this time is extremely necessary for HAGL.

Although he has not played for more than 6 months, Anh Duc still practices daily to maintain his fitness, physique and ball feeling.

Anh Duc is a classic midfielder and a real penalty killer. The 35-year-old striker has a variety of finishing skills both head and foot. He will be a necessary addition to the attack of HAGL in the context of Chevaughn Walsh showing the ungainly in the past rounds.

With Anh Duc in the team, HAGL can now be considered as a miniature Vietnam with Xuan Truong, Tuan Anh, Van Toan, Van Thanh, Hong Duy or Minh Vuong. If these players can work well together, HAGL will become a very formidable team in V-League 2020.
