Siam Sport: ‘It’s time to accept that Vietnam is the no.1 ASEAN team’
Siam Sport newspaper admits that Park Hang-seo’s side truly has a powerful influence in ASEAN.
Vietnam NT brilliantly ruled out Thailand in the hunt for King’s Cup 2019 title. Siam Sport pointed out 5 matters behind Thai's loss to Park Hang-seo’s side:
1. No time to breath
Half of the first half was going speedily. The pressures from Vietnamese players made our players have no time to take a breath. The only special thing we had was the cheering of our fans on the stand.
2. Chanathip’s absence
The lack of Chanathip Songkrasin clearly affected Thai NT’s style. Without him, the ball did not go in a smooth way as expected.
3. Losing ball control
Playing followed 3-5-2 formation wherein the midfield couple Kesarat and Saar almost failed to control the ball in the middle area. Not until Sumanya Puri took over the duties of Surach, was the offending guard of Thailand more versatile.
4. A goal from a mistake
It comes as no surprise if a keeper makes some mistakes which already happened in yesterday match wherein Nguyen Anh Duc produced a magical header making Kawin Thamsatchanan did nothing but picked the ball.
5. Accept that we are no.2 of ASEAN
From achievements of 2018 AFF Cup, 2019 Asian Cup Quarters to the exploits in the yesterday competition, it’s time to accept that Vietnam is the king of ASEAN.
