Vietnam to face Indonesia in AFC Futsal Championship quarter-finals after losing to Japan
Vietnam will encounter U20 Indonesia at the AFC U20 Futsal championship 2019
Having officially participated in the quarterfinals, the confrontation between Vietnam and Japan only made sense to determine the top of Group C. However, the spirit of having won the next battle should be very exciting for Vietnam, thereby the speed of the game was pushed up very high by the playful pay-for-play style. Both Vietnam and Japan created a lot of opportunities in the goalies’ side.
It wasn't until the 14th minute that the deadlock on the pitch was cleared and Vietnam had the previous lead. The ball near the middle field in the home field, Lam Toa took a very nice long shot, hit the back of the net in Japan side. However, the joy of Mr. Truong Quoc Tuan’s troop only lasted a few tens of seconds when Matsukawa delivered a corner shot in a braking phase from the right, kicking the ball into a ball bouncing straight into the net, equalizing 1-1 for Japan.
The equalizer helped Japan play more comfortable. Three minutes later, Motoishi shot a long-range shot, the Vietnam goalkeeper was out of sight, unable to prevent the ball from going into the net, rising the scoring to 2-1, Japan took the lead.
In the second half, Japan played more actively. Vietnam must bear great pressure from its competitor. Tang Dinh's goal was always in the red alert when Japan launched many shots. However, the opponent's finishes were inaccurate. In the end, Vietnam lost with a score of 1-2.
With this result, U20 Vietnam Futsal finished 2nd in Group C, while Japan ranked first with 6 points. In the quarterfinals of the AFC U20 Futsal, Japan will face Iraq, while U20 Vietnam will encounter Group D's winner, U20 Indonesia.
