HAGL representative first time spoke of Cong Phuong playing in Belgium
Nguyen Tan Anh, a HAGL representative, recently confirmed the transfer of Cong Phuong to Belgium side Sint-Truiden team.
Recently, the Sponichi press in Japan confirmed that Sint-Truiden club currently playing in the Belgian league has obtained the signature of striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.
Accordingly, the deal will soon be officially announced in Vietnam, if Cong Phuong transfers to Sint-Truiden, Cong Phuong will be playing in the high level European football environment.
After information about the 3rd journey of Cong Phuong was rumored in the Vietnamese media, HAGL’s representatives also officially confirmed this deal.
Sharing with Tien Phong newspaper this morning (July 1), HAGL’s director Nguyen Tan Anh said: "Cong Phuong will play for Sint-Truidense under a 1-year contract, starting from the new season. Currently, we are promoting to complete procedures for Phuong to go to Belgium, and Sint-Truidense VV has also made a video introducing Cong Phuong's debut".
After King's Cup, there was a lot of information regarding Cong Phuong playing abroad. There were two teams playing in France second-tier, which became the "rumoring" destination of Cong Phuong, Paris FC and Clemont Foot 63. In the end, HAGL board and Cong Phuong chose Sint-Truiden , a team playing in the Belgian League.
Explaining this decision, Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh shared: "Cong Phuong is eyed by many teams. After considering the proposals, HAGL decided to choose Sint-Truidense as the new berth for Cong Phuong".
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh, the contract signing ceremony between Cong Phuong and Sint-Truiden club will take place on July 5 in Ho Chi Minh City. Basically, all procedures for Cong Phuong to Belgium are completed. A video introduction about Cong Phuong was also made by Sint-Truiden to announce the Vietnamese rookie with their fans.
Sint-Truiden (abbreviated to STVV) is the football club of Sint-Truiden city in Limburg, Belgium. This team was founded in 1924. The traditional colors of Sint-Truiden are yellow and blue. This also explains the nickname "Canaries". Sint-Truiden owns Stayen - a stadium with a relatively modest capacity of only 14,600 seats.
