Cambodia’s impressive performance in World Cup 2022 Qualifiers
Chanthea Sieng’s and Sokumphea’s goals helped Cambodia defeat Pakistan in World Cup 2022 Qualifiers
In the first qualifying round for World Cup 2022 in Asia zone, Cambodia NT faced a same-level Pakistan NT.
Having its home advantage, Angkor warrior dominated the game, deployed attack and created ‘dangerous situations in the box of Pakistan yet they were unable to take the chance, finishing the first half with no goal conceded.
In the second half, Cambodia still took the led and more chances were created in the attack after the headcoach Honda’s personel changes.
However, it is not until the eighty- first minute that Chanthea Sieng opend the scoring and brought back a goal for the home team, followed by number 10 Sokumphea’s goal, rasing the scoring to 2-0.
Cambodia had great advantages ahead of the second-leg on June 11. They need to remain conceding no more than a goal, Honda’s side will secure a ticket the the second qualifying round in FIFA World Cup 2022.
