Not Park Hang Seo, Philippe Troussier is highly appreciated by the Thai media.
Vietnamese football has had extremely impressive successes in recent years. People often remember the performance in Changzhou under Park Hang-seo or the championship at AFF Cup and SEA Games.
However, before Park Hang-seo came, Vietnamese football had a special feat when the young players first attended the U20 World Cup in 2017- a world-class playground. This is also the new goal set by VFF when in 2026, the World Cup will increase the number of participating teams to 48.
Vietnamese football has been more interested and focused on the training of young players. VFF has chosen U19 coach as known as director of VPF training center, Philippe Troussier. The SiamSport newspaper highly appreciated the former Japanese coach:
"Vietnamese football is aiming to attend the U20 World Cup held in Indonesia in 2021. Before that, they had once done this when they won tickets to Korea in 2017. To accomplish the goal. VFF invited coach Philippe Troussier to lead the Vietnam U19 team, this is a world-class coach who has attended the World Cup many times.
At the AFC U19 Championship 2020, U19 Vietnam is in the 3rd seed group. If they fall into a reasonable group, the opportunity for coach Philippe Troussier’s side to overcome the group stage is not small,” Thai media shares.
After many successes, Vietnam fans are looking forward to the next youth's performance after the names Van Hau, Quang Hai and Hoang Duc. The draw for the AFC U19 Championship finals will be held at AFC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) on June 18, 2020.
