Que Ngoc Hai revealed that he refused to join HAGL in 2018 due to force majeure reasons.

At the end of 2018, Que Ngoc Hai was expected to join HAGL after ending the contract with SLNA. However, the number 1 footballer in Vietnam decided to join Viettel and left many regrets for HAGL fans.

Speaking in a recent media, Que Ngoc Hai admitted that Hoang Anh Gia Lai club was involved but he was forced to refuse. The reason given is because he signed a contract with Viettel FC.

Que Ngoc Hai shared: "Former HAGL coach, Duong Minh Ninh called me. But at that time I had signed a contract with Viettel so I couldn't join HAGL. At that time, many teams contacted me. HAGL was involved but it was already late."

The defense of Hoang Anh Gia Lai has always been unstable in the past few seasons, so failing to recruit Que Ngoc Hai was a pity for Doan Nguyen Duc. Especially when the player has established himself as the No. 1 center-back in Vietnam in the past 2 years.

The 27-year-old player also regretted not being able to join HAGL, because he owed HAGL president. Specifically, HAGL president supported VND 400 million, equal to about 50% of the amount that Que Ngoc Hai needs to pay for Anh Khoa's treatment.

Que Ngoc Hai said after the 2015 incident, he still had no chance to meet him directly to thank Doan Nguyen Duc: "Until now I have not met Mr. Duc. Every time I go to HAGL, I always ask Tan Anh but he did not come to see it, probably because of so much work, and since then, I have been waiting for many seasons to see him but I still cannot say thank to him."
