Park Hang-seo possibly to be banned at the AFF Cup 2020

VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan affirmed that Park Hang-seo could lose the right to lead Vietnam at the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020.

Recently, the Thai media announced that Park Hang-seo will be banned from directing at the AFF Cup 2020. Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc confirmed that the Korean strategist could be ban leading the Vietnam team in Southeast Asia's highest football tournament.

VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan shared: "VFF will actively resolve the punishment of Park Hang-seo as soon as the ban on football activities is lifted. Hope everything will be fine for the Vietnamese team.

Park and his team, however have now calculated who will replace his role if he is banned from directing at the upcoming AFF Cup."

Previously, Park Hang-seo was banned 4 friendlies and paying a fine of $ 5,000 for a red card due to an reaction against the referee in the 2019 SEA Games final between Vietnam U22 and Indonesia U22.

Right after the decision of the AFC, the Vietnam Football Federation directed the relevant division to plan international friendly matches for the U23 team or the national team to play and ‘erase’ the penalty for Park Hang-seo.

VFF arranged a friendly match against Kyrgyzstan on March 26 in Binh Duong. However, this match was canceled due to the outbreak of Covid-19. It is expected that the Vietnam Football Federation will continue to hold friendly matches at the end of the year.
