According to coach Vu Tien Thanh, Mr. Philippe Troussier introduced young striker Vo Nguyen Hoang to Saigon Club.
Saigon Club introduced a new contract of Vietnamese U19 striker Vo Nguyen Hoang Monday at a meeting with students of a university in Ho Chi Minh City.
He is the first addition of Saigon when the summer transfer market in V-League opens from July 21. Sharing with the media, coach Vu Tien Thanh revealed who introduced this player to Saigon Club.
"Mr. Troussier sent Nguyen Hoang's video for us to analyze. Nguyen Hoang is young and has great potential. Saigon also has no domestic striker so Nguyen Hoang will be given the opportunity to play. He is capable of playing in V-League like Cong Vinh and Van Quyen in the past ".
During the ceremony, Nguyen Hoang shared: "Coach Troussier told me to always strive. He is the one who understands and advises me to keep my feet on the ground. I have to try to practice and express myself on the training ground, listen to other seniors. The leading team is also under a great pressure. What impresses me in Saigon is the solidarity and fighting spirit."
Coach Troussier especially loved the PVF’s striker. Former Japanese coach considered Nguyen Hoang as a treasure of young Vietnamese football that needs to be cared for carefully. The Saigon Club also promised to create conditions for Nguyen Hoang to play in the second phase of V-League 2020.
Nguyen Hoang wears No. 66 shirt, showing pride in his homeland Dong Thap. He will play through phase 2 and then continue to discuss the future extension contract at the Saigon team.
Saigon is now top of the V-League with 10 unbeaten matches. They have a great chance to extend the above series as they are going to travel to underdog Quang Nam in round 11.
