Leeuwarder Courant newspaper revealed that SC Heerenveen is having financial difficulties in retaining Doan Van Hau next season.
Until now, the future of Doan Van Hau at SC Heerenveen has not been clarified yet. The Dutch team has not made any move to extend the contract.
Even, many sources believe that Doan Van Hau plans to return to Vietnam in early July and is likely to end his European journey.
According to Dutch media, the SC Heerenveen wants to keep Van Hau completely true. But the unstable financial situation after the COVID-19 pandemic made this team difficult to meet its goals. Leeuwarder Courant wrote:
"What will happen to Doan Van Hau is still unclear. SC Heerenveen wants to keep the Vietnamese defender, but the financial situation does not allow them to pour too much money into this contract. With Doan Van Hau, everything is still a question mark ".
Currently Van Hau's salary is about 450,000 Euro / year. The defender of Vietnam is one of the highest paid players in this team. Therefore, with the unfavorable financial situation, the delay of SC Heerenveen in renewing the contract is completely understandable.
Reportedly, the Dutch team will send a letter to Hanoi FC about Van hau’s future on June 28. In case the two sides do not reach an agreement, Van Hau will return home and play for the Hanoi Club in Phase 2 V. League. "This possibility depends on the agreement after June 30," the Hanoi club leader confirmed.
