Do Merlo, playing in V-League for 6 years, will probly understand Vietnamese football no less than other locals. Recently, Argentinan striker indicated players’ drawbacks that they need to impove.
“Vietnamese players are good and skillfull. However, the things affecting their performance are their attitude and spirit.
With a good attitude and spirit, they will open to learn from foreigners. If they are aware of that, I think it will boost their performance.”
Earlier, Nam Dinh’s striker stated that Vietnam NT doesn’t need naturalized players as they own quality attackers.
“The leading striker V-League is in Ho Chi Minh City (Nguyen Xuan Nam). Dang Nang has Ha Duc Chinh. Another player in Binh Duong who I don’t remember his name but his shirt number is 22 (Nguyen Tien Linh). He plays well with strength, skills and scoring ability. That is important for every players."
After leaving SHB Da Nang, Do Merlo is playing for Nam Dinh in V-League 2020. He and Nam Dinh had a convincing win over HAGL in the National Cup 2020 qualifiers. This is an important start for Nam Dinh to progress and achieve a higher position in V-League 2020.
