Commentator Quang Huy: 'Chu Dinh Nghiem is a good coach, not depend on players'

Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem is one of the senior coach at the Hanoi Club when he has been with the team since its establishment. However, there are some parts of the audience who do not appreciate the ability of this Thanh Hoa coach.

Recently in the meeting with fans, commentator Quang Huy has commented on Mr. Chu Dinh Nghiem.

"Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem inherited coach Phan Thanh Hung in Hanoi, he is a good coach although Phan Thanh Hung previously laid the foundation for the Hanoi club.

Hanoi always has a good team of players, the young generation is also organized well to regularly provide players to the first team. However, if he is not good, he cannot take over the team continuously for many years.

Before Chu Dinh Nghiem, there were some coach that was not successful in Hanoi FC. That shows that having good players is not necessarily a success factor, and the role of the coach is very important, " commentator Quang Huy made a subjective assessment.

Answering the question of whether coach Chu Dinh Nghiem can lead the national team or not, BLV Quang Huy shared.

"My position as a head coach, U23 team should be for foreigners. I do not blame anyone, I respect and appreciate but ‘no man is a prophet in his own land’, or internal coach does not have as much autonomy as the foreign coach so I think this is not a good time for the domestic coach to lead the team."

This season has been the 5th year coach Chu Dinh Nghiem leads the Hanoi club. After half a decade as the head coach, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem helped the capital team three times to win the throne in the V-League, especially Hanoi played in the AFC Cup 2019 inter-regional final.

Although there was rumored last season that coach Duc Thang will return to lead Hanoi, in the end, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem is still sitting on the training bench and doing his job well.
