The Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) said coach Shin Tae Yong will soon return to Indonesia and directly run the focus of the national team in July. The South Korean leader sent a letter to PSSI President - Iwan Bule to discuss the plan in the near future.
Coach Shin Tae Yong wrote: "I want accurate information about the U19 Indonesia team's schedule and preparation in Korea. Also, I would like to talk about the coaching team's returning schedule to Indonesia as well as time, location and plan during isolation. "
The Korean coach emphasized that youth training will be his top priority in his 4-year contract with the Indonesian Football Federation. Indonesia wants to win the Southeast Asian Championship but that will be the story of the next two years.
"The top goal now is to qualify for the U21 World Cup group stage 2021 and to win the AFF Cup 2022. Therefore, the AFC u19 Championship finals 2020 and AFF Cup 2020 are the springboard for us to advance to the next level.
No coach is not aiming to win. It is the time to invest time and effort in future results. I hope everyone at PSSI and the media will support me in this process," wrote coach Shin Tae Yong.
Currently, the Indonesian team is at the bottom of Group G in the 2022 World Cup qualifying round in Asia after losing 5 matches. Having certainly been disqualified, coach Shin Tae Yong will treat this arena as a rehearsal for the upcoming important goals of the Indonesian team.
