Coach Park started a new journey for Vietnamese football

Success and failure, from victory to defeat, football still occurs and the pressure of achievement always weighs on the shoulder of Park Hang-seo and his assistants.

Since coming to Vietnam, the Korean strategist has helped Vietnamese football to achieve unexpected success. All titles that Vietnamese people have dreamed of for decades such as AFF Cup and SEA Games have been conquered by Mr. Park.

And his upcoming task is to maintain that success so that Vietnamese football maintains the position of the powerhouse of Southeast Asia.

To achieve that goal is not simple. The talents are getting older but there is not enough young stars to grow, the next generation of players has not shown the potential to match with seniors such as Cong Phuong, Quang Hai, Van Hau, ...

Regardless of the country, that football doesn't always produce talent constantly. So the mission of footballers like Mr. Park is to train, improve, improve the materials available. On July 1, he and his associates will begin the hunt to defend the 31st SEA Games gold medal at home.

This is one of the important criteria in Mr. Park's new contract with VFF. Therefore, both the Federation and the Korean coach planed for up to 2 years. In which applying the old way but effective to open the short-term concentration, taking advantage of the break time between rounds when the league is taking place.

In that way, Mr. Park will most accurately assess the ability of each player, improve the weaknesses and most importantly help them understand the playing philosophy that he applies to the Vietnamese team.

After a careful monitoring process, Mr. Park has selected 28 best names over time to join this short-term gathering. Some notable names in V-League include midfielder Nguyen Hai Long (Than Quang Ninh), Nguyen Hung Thien Duc (Becamex Binh Duong) or Dung Quang Nho (HAGL).

However, most of these players have not left much fame in the youth tournaments. The choice with Mr. Park is not much, so in the 19 national finals, he had to go down to PVF to follow the tournament and recruit new 18-19 year-old players for this U22 team.

The U22 Vietnam team will have 3 days to meet July 1-3, of which the second day the players will compete internally with the U19 Vietnam team. Mr. Park will use this to assess the quality of the players.
