Vocket FC of Malaysia revealed that the Southeast Asian Football Association discussed and decided that there is no country could host the AFF Cup 2020.

Vietnam recently proposed in the AFF Council meeting the plan for AFF Cup 2020 which holds the tournament in one or two countries due to the complicated situation of Covid-19 epidemic.

This makes Vietnam become a bright candidate to host the tournament because it is one of the few countries in the region to control the disease relatively well.

However, Malaysia's Vocket FC reported quite unexpected information. Accordingly, the Southeast Asian Football Association discusses and decided that the tournament would continue to play in the old format, i.e. two away matches and two home matches in the group stage.

AFF believes that the Covid-19 epidemic will be well controlled by the end of the year. What AFF is most interested in at the moment is whether the governments of all countries allow entry of foreigners or not. Currently most countries restrict international flights. As in Vietnam, immigration cases are of diplomatic, official, expert, merchant, skilled labor and humanitarian flights to bring citizens back home.

After social distancing, all cases must undergo rigorous medical examination. Unpredictable movements of the disease caused many people to agree with the proposed plan of Vietnam.

This year the tournament is different, the teams are allowed to convene an official list of 30 players. The number of players registered for each match increased to 23.
