'10 Vietnamese players banned from FIFA 'will return in November

With the act of arranging the score at the National U21 Championship 2019, the World Football Federation (FIFA) has issued a decision to ban 11 Dong Thap U21 players from playing worldwide. In particular, the instigator Huynh Van Tien was banned for 5 years (from 11/5/2020 - 5/5/2025).

The remaining 10 players involved in the match were Nguyen Nhat Truong, Nguyen Anh Phat, Vo Minh Trong, Le Nhut Huy, Giang So Ny, Tran Huu Nghia, Cao Tan Hoai, Duong Vu Linh, Kha Tan Tai and Tran Cong Minh are suspneded for 6 months (from 11/5/2020 - 11/10/2020).

As such, this group of players can return to the finals of the National U21 Championship 2020 which takes place in Dong Thap in November this year. During the 6-month suspension, they can still train normally to maintain the feeling of the ball before playing again. This time, there was no tournament suitable for U19 and U21 Dong Thap to attend.

Director of Dong Thap Training and Sports Training and Competition Center, Mr. Nguyen Van Vung shared the viewpoint that he wants to educate and deter 10 players, so they will be kept, and the case of Huynh Van Tien will contract terminated.

The Dong Thap U21 players who participated in the semi-finals are the best young players in Vietnam in the past 5 years, when they set up a hat trick in 3 national finals that they attended. In the U21 National Cup 2019, Dong Thap U21 won 3rd place and only lost to Hanoi U21 in the semi-finals - the team won the championship afterwards.
