SELANGOR coach B. Satiananthan is angry with some of his players. He has warned that if they do not buck up, they will be shipped out.

SELANGOR coach B. Satiananthan is angry with some of his players. He has warned that if they do not buck up, they will be shipped out.

The former national coach said this following their 2-0 defeat to Kedah in Sunday’s Super League match at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Star.

Renan Alves (26th minute) and Kpah Sherman (45th) netted for Kedah.

The Selangor coach said several players did not perform well.

“It was like they were not on the field today (Sunday). I need to speak to these players. If they do not show improvement, I will not field them in the future,” said Satiananthan in Alor Star on Sunday.

“I can’t get it. My team were playing like they were under tremendous pressure. It should not be the case as there were no fans today.

“Of course, we did not prepare well due to our congested schedule but this is not an excuse.

“I had drilled them accordingly before we played Kedah.

“Today, we lost our shape after Kedah’s first goal and things became harder when they scored a second.

“In the second half, we played much better. The players were aggressive but unfortunately, they had no ideas on how to penetrate Kedah’s defence.”

With the M-League temporarily suspended, Satiananthan will use it to work on his team’s weaknesses.

“It is timely as some of my players are also injured. But no excuse for today, I will work with these players in training. I will not hesitate to change players including one foreign player, who did not perform well,” he added.

Kedah coach Aidil Sharin Sahak praised his players for raising their game following their poor start to the season.

“Today, my players worked hard and were motivated to win.

“In our previous three games, we did not get the results, although we played well,” said Aidil.

In another match, UiTM FC recorded their first win of the season by overcoming Police 3-1 at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam.

UiTM netted through Rabih Ataya (12th minute), Gustavo Almeida (45th) and Zulkifli Zakaria (83rd) while Eskandar Ismail (90th) replied for Police.

It was Police’s third defeat in four matches.

Police coach Ishak Kunju admitted that he is unhappy with the way things are going.

“However, it is no use blaming anyone. We had our chances today but did not utilise them.

“I will use the break to rectify our weaknesses. Our tactics against UiTM did not work. We need to work harder in training,” said Ishak. Farah Azharie
