Philippines confident with the goal of taking over Vietnam

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is very confident with the plan to surpass Vietnam to become a new powerhouse of Asia football in the near future.

The Covid-19 epidemic is raging in the world. However, Filipino footballers want to take advantage of this time to carry out their ambitious plans in the future- to help the Philippines become a strong force in Asian football.

 “We are reviewing players in all teams who are eligible and ready to play for the national team at this time. In addition, we are also actively looking for players from other sources, Filipino-origins playing abroad. I fully believe my plan will help Filipino football improve.”, Philippines coach shared.

The team leader Dan Palami also believes in this plan. He also believes this strategy will help their football to achieve many progress in the future, firstly overtaking the Vietnam at the AFF Cup 2020. It was coach Park Hang-seo’s army defeating the Philippines  in the last AFF Cup semi-final in 2018.

Philippines was overcome by the Vietnamese team in the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2018.

“The players are showing rapid progress. It is obvious if we are as strong as other Asian teams. Our team is capable of facing every opponent in the future. The Philippines will become one of the strongest teams in Asia,” Mr. Palami said.

In order to strengthen the strength of the Philippines team in the near future, the Football Association of this country will recall 7 overseas players who are playing throughout Europe in 2020. This list includes Raphael Obermair, Gerrit Holtmann, Bernd Schipmann, Jesper Nyholm, Jefferson Tabinas, Niko de Vera and Jessie Curran.
