Former Indonesia national coach, Simon McMenemy recently shared an unforgettable moment with Vietnamese football.

“If you are a football person please join the challenge of posting a football photo. Just one picture, no description. Please copy the text in your status, post a picture and look back at some great memories / pictures ” coach Simon McMenemy shared so on his social media account.

Attached to the challenge above is a picture of coach Calisto refusing to shake hands with coach Simon McMenemy. The photo above was recorded at the AFF Cup 2010, when his Philippines team suddenly defeated the Vietnamese team (the champion) 2-0 at My Dinh Stadium.

Being defeated by the underdog team, Calisto coach was not angry. Immediately after the match ended, the Portuguese coach did not shake hands with opposing coach but went straight to the dressing room. He also angrily criticised "the negative playing style has killed football".

In contrast, coach Simon McMenemy considered it as one of the most memorable milestones in his career. The victory over Vietnam officially brought him to a new position in the football community of Southeast Asia.

At the same time, this is also the starting point for the boom of Filipino football when they passed the group stage and progressed to the semi-finals of the AFF Cup 2010. This milestone was voted by Sports Illustrated magazine as one of ten football story of the year.
