AFC points out the reason Vietnam failed at the AFC U23 Championship 2020
The AFC homepage has recently written an article showing the two best names of Vietnam and technical analysis of U23 Vietnam in AFC U23 Championship 2020.
In an article about the AFC U23 Championship 2020 Finals in Thailand earlier this year, AFC pointed out the two most prominent playing names on the U23 side of Vietnam. It is the captain Nguyen Quang Hai and striker Nguyen Tien Linh.
According to AFC analysis, Quang Hai plays the role of organizing the play of the ‘Golden Star’. While Tien Linh was described as an extremely aggressive player on the offensive line, and the only goal scorer for U23 Vietnam in this year's finals.
AFC analyzed: Park Hang-seo used 3-4-3 formation for attacking and transformed into 5-4-1 when Vietnam is pressed or lost the ball. These two tactics allow Park Hang-seo to quickly adapt from attack to defense and vice versa.
When attacking, U23 Vietnam has six players but when transformed into defense it also becomes a highly organized discipline. With that play, Jordan and the UAE were unable to break Vietnam's defense.
However, U23 Vietnam also encountered difficulties in counter-attacking play. It is also necessary to know that because Vietnam is the runner-up of the tournament, U23 Vietnam has been researched, identified and taken by competitors.
Meanwhile, the home team Thailand U23 only stopped in the quarterfinals. AFC selected four excellent names on the Thai side: Anon, Suphanat, Korraphat and Supachok.
