According to Thailand source, striker Shinji Okazaki is likely to join Buriram United.

Recently, Thailand football has become vibrant when they welcome former Leicester City player, who was crowned champion with the Foxes in Premier League: Shinji Okazaki.

Okazaki's arrival in Thailand made rumors that he would move to a club in Thai League.

The reigning champion Buriram United is lacking a proper striker and Okazaki is the name to be targeted. Buriram club is said to have a very good relationship with King Power (which owns Leicester City Club - Okazaki's club) so it would be advantageous to sign the player.

Since the end of 2018/2019 season, Okazaki has become a free player. Despite his age, his experience (Okazaki played in Bundesliga and Premier League) can still help him become a star in ASEAN zone.

However, if he moves to Buriram, Shinji Okazaki's salary will definitely drop a lot compared to 3.1 million pounds / season as he was in Leicester.

On Okazaki's side, he admits that Thai League is an attractive tournament and will be a potential destination in the future. However, at this time, he is still on vacation and has not thought about returning to Japan or Asia to play football. Currently, he’s visiting Thailand for an advertising activity of sports band Mizuno.

If the rumors is true, he will become the first Premier League champion to compete in Southeast Asia.

Shinji Okazaki is a Japanese player. He used to serve the prestigious clubs of Europe such as Stuttgart, Mainz 05 and especially clinched Premier League championship in 2015/2016 season with Leicester City. Okazaki made 114 appearances and scored 14 goals.
