Indonesia will announce six cities hosting the FIFA U20 World Cup 2021 next month

The Indonesian government and the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) seem to be ready to announce the six cities that will host the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup 2021 matches.

Indonesia won the right to host the FIFA U20 World Cup in October 2019 after defeating rivals from Brazil and Peru. They will host the world championship from May 23 to June 22 next year.

And to accelerate the preparation for the prestigious tournament, PSSI will work with the government

"PSSI and FIFA will also announce six selected cities to host the tournament in early March," PSSI President Mochammad Iriawan said.

The head of PSSI also said the announcement of the six host cities would help the Ministry of Public Works and Housing begin to prepare to strengthen the infrastructure needed for the FIFA event.

Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Pakansari Stadium in Bogor, Manahan Stadium in Surakarta, Mandala Krida Stadium in Yogyakarta, Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya and Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali are six places expected to host the FIFA U20 World Cup .

This will be the second U20 World Cup to be held in Southeast Asia after Malaysia hosted the tournament in 1997.
